Though foreclosures are going up and home prices overall are going down on a national level, cities like Boston and Seattle are examples of housing markets maintaining their values. By emitting the foreclosed home data and only looking at the non-foreclosed homes data, Boston has demonstrated a very stable market in terms of house values. In Seattle, well-maintained, detached houses in good neighborhoods are continuing to yield very stable sales and prices.
